Hello and welcome to Wyngarden Photography!
Twenty-six years ago, in the spring of 1981, an entertaining personal hobby turned into a serious, professional endeavor when I accepted several offers to photograph a wedding and several family portraits. It was terrifying and exciting and the kind of challenge I couldn't resist. And now, all these years later, the goal is till the same, to successfully capture images of what will be your life's memories: your first hours as a couple, your young children in their fairytale years, the growing family groupings in your home or backyard, the 30th anniversary with your children and their children, the aging loved ones who may soon be gone, all the unforgettable people who have made your life so meaningful.
Okay, the emotional/psychological aspects are pretty obvious, but what about the business side of what I do?
Very simply, the photography is done to suit your style, your schedule and your budget. There are no package plans. No gimmicky sales incentives involving family or friends. No albums, frames, coffee mugs or T-shirts. You don't need that stuff from me, and you certainly don't need to pay the marked-up price charged to provide it. You know those 8X10 prints you ordered from your photographer? Do you realize that each one of them coast you three to five times what he paid when he ordered them for you? The mark-up is ridiculous, and it's been going on for decades—I used to do it, too. But no more, because digital cameras and the Internet have made all of that unnecessary and obsolete; I think that's great!
There are so many choices now that all you need from your photographer nowadays is the ability to properly light, pose, and capture the mood and the personality of the moment. I no longer stock or sell albums, frames or prints. Why in the world would you want to pay me extra to do so? There are scores of on-line sites where you can order exactly what you want for ridiculously low prices with very speedy service. Every photo shoot I do, whether a wedding or a family portrait, includes a CD of your images, to do with as you please. I charge only an Event Fee appropriate to the occasion. I'm trying to simplify for myself and help you do so too.
I hope you'll e-mail us at info@wyngardenphotography.com or give us a call at (630)293-4396 so we can talk over your plans and find the best way to meet your needs. I look forward to hearing from you.
